Here are some clues to differentiate the 2 forms of dandruff:

Dry dandruff:

  • Rather thin and highly volatile, they could be mistaken for plaster dust!

Oily dandruff:

  • Rather large, yellowish and heavy. They do not come out, so they stick to the scalp! Being larger in size and yellowish in color, oily dandruff is a small patch that clings to the scalp forming yellowish clusters. In fact, the scalp is overproducing sebum.
  • It is important to know that oily dandruff can cause severe itching and promote the development of bacteria. By suffocating the scalp, it can also promote hair loss.
